We surprised the kids on Christmas night with tickets to LegoLand. We found some really cheap tickets on Craig's List and got a great deal on a hotel. We headed out Monday morning to San Diego. This was Jackson and Chase's first time at an amusement park and it had been a long time for Blake and Audrey, so the kids were quite excited to say the least.
After a free breakfast at the Hotel we were the first ones to the park. We couldn't wait.
We ran to the cars and did them first so Jackson got the whole track to himself.
Blake and Audrey earned their driver's licenses
Blake loved driving his own car and helicopter. He had a blast, even on the kiddie rides. But his favorite was the jousting when he and I got flipped all over the place and I couldn't stop laughing.
Chase calls skeletons and pirates, "whoa freaky!" but he's not scared of them. He wanted to go on the "whoa freaky" pirate ride. Jackson opted out but Chase loved it! Jackson then changed his mind after he saw how much fun we had and he ended up doing it the second day.
Audrey with the Princess of LegoLand
Giddy up horsey! Jackson liked this much better than the Dragon Roller Coaster.
Going on the boat ride to tour the wonders of the world... lego style! Miniland USA was incredible to see everything built out of LEGOS!
"Santa comin' to town" is what Chase says every time he sees Santa.
"Chug a choo choo" Chase loves trains.
Some of the rides had lego play areas while we waited- brilliant idea!
This was our one meal at LegoLand at the Sports Cafe. We also had Granny's Apple Fries with cream cheese dipping sauce in the Knight's Kingdom-YUMMY!!
The kids played and we watched some fun shows. The rain didn't slow us down a bit.
The kids loved this simple little airplane ride. It would whip them around the corner and you could hear Chase giggling the entire ride. It was so cute to see Blake and Audrey taking Jackson and Chase on these rides and lifting them up in to their seats and buckling them in. This was definitely a priceless memory to see the joy and laughter in their faces.
The Beetle Bounce Ride was another classic. All three kids just laughing and giggling the whole ride and Chase loved watching them do it. The trip was perfect. Blake wasn't too old and Chase wasn't too young. The kids picked out their own "lego lego guys" to take home with them to help us remember what a wonderful time we had.

OH MY! I didn't even know this place existed. I'll have to start saving, and then I'll have to borrow Blake and Audrey so they can buckle our kids. Looks like a ton of family fun. Something different than disneyland.
