mini VACATION

I got a coupon at the Oro Valley Parade for one free night at the Hilton El Conquistador Resort that is about 5 miles from our house. So we took a little mini vacation. We got all packed up and told the kids we were going on vacation. They were wondering why we didn't hook up the videos to watch in the car and as soon as they were done asking...we pulled in to the parking lot. That's the way to travel! The kids played all day in the pool we went out to eat, and relaxed in the hotel. We slept in the next morning and then jumped back in the car for a "LONG" trip home:)

SEDONA

During Spring Break we went with 4 other couples to Sedona for a little vacation with no kids. Notice the smile on my face as I sit and actually eat my lunch while enjoying the beautiful canyon instead of the alternative: running around trying to get little people fed first, worrying about someone falling in to the river, making sure sunblock is applied and trying to talk the boys out of throwing rocks at each other.
We all stayed together in a big house and went hiking (lots to choose from in Sedona), swimming, played tennis, yoga (that was just the girls), games, and out to eat.
The Haymores, Hardings, Whites, us and the Crowthers all checking out some really cool Indian ruins.
Tania talked me in to trying to feel young and stupid again and we jumped off a cliff at Grasshopper Point.
I was scared, but I was a big girl and went for it!
The water was freezing and I had water up my nose for two days, but of course it was a blast and I really did feel young and STUPID once again.
Matt and I feeling the "VORTEX" and loving spending time together.
We were told that the Indian men would sit around in the Kiva and weave baskets while the women did all the real work...
We thought that was pretty funny!! Good thing times have changed.
On our way home we caught a session at the Mesa Temple which was a wonderful ending to a wonderful trip. A huge thank you to Paul and Trisha (who is prego to boot) for watching our 4 kids. The kids were so excited for us to leave so they could play with Brig and Raegan. You guys are the BEST and we so appreciate your willingness to help us out. THANK YOU!!!

Spring Break

For spring break I took the kids to play in the water at Catalina State Park with some friends. The kids had water fights and made sand castles. It was a perfect day for a picnic.

Of course wherever we go, Blake will find a way to get a football involved. He also built a damn and caught "beetles that swam in the water" with Joseph and John.

Jackson loved splashing in the water. I just wished this water stayed year round. It eventually all dries up and we have to wait for monsoon season.
