Easter 2009

Matt had just had an ankle surgery so he got out of Easter Family picture time... or so he thought. We just came to him.
My Mom and Dad came to visit. We love getting visitors @ EASTER

Never too old for free candy:)
Audrey found the Jackpot Egg this year- Blake was not happy about that.
Every egg was a Jackpot egg for Jackson!!
It didn't take Chase too long to catch on that there was some kind of yummy food inside the eggs. So with his mouth full- he found more food... I mean eggs.
Matt managed to make his way outside for the first time since his surgery to get a little sun and watch everyone run around but him. He was a good sport.

Vote Blake for President

Blake came home from school one day and told me he was going to run for President. "President of what?" I ask. "President of the school". "The whole school?"
Well it is only Elementary school. That was a shocker, but I said, "OK". He wanted to be Napolean D. and I talked him in to doing the famous dance for his skit. Our neighbors had the costume that he borrowed and we made the t-shirt. It was pretty classic. I know it's not very original, but Blake can do a pretty good impression and he worked hard on the moves and nailed the dance- the kids thought it was hilarious (and so did I).
Blake offered the school his protection and promised them that their wildest dreams would come true if they voted for him. So of course everyone did...
Meet the new President of Painted Sky- Blake Cannon!!

It works!

Okay, so I know it looks funny but it really works. My eyes are so sensitive when I cut onions and it really hurts!! I got this brilliant idea to dig out some goggles while cutting- and I didn't have one tear. My smart alec husband reached for the camera- but I don't care how I look if it stops the stinging!

Bugaroobaby.com

So my sister, Erica, is so talented and creative and she has decided to start her own little buisness. BUGAROOBABY.com is it's name and she sells these wonderful, live saving, slings for new moms to tote their babies around. But she didn't stop there. She added burp cloths, blocks, and these ADORABLE little purses.
So Audrey and I got to go take pictures for her website. Audrey had so much fun pretending to be a "model" and was so excited to be famous on Erica's website.

Check it out www.bugaroobaby.com

mini VACATION

I got a coupon at the Oro Valley Parade for one free night at the Hilton El Conquistador Resort that is about 5 miles from our house. So we took a little mini vacation. We got all packed up and told the kids we were going on vacation. They were wondering why we didn't hook up the videos to watch in the car and as soon as they were done asking...we pulled in to the parking lot. That's the way to travel! The kids played all day in the pool we went out to eat, and relaxed in the hotel. We slept in the next morning and then jumped back in the car for a "LONG" trip home:)

SEDONA

During Spring Break we went with 4 other couples to Sedona for a little vacation with no kids. Notice the smile on my face as I sit and actually eat my lunch while enjoying the beautiful canyon instead of the alternative: running around trying to get little people fed first, worrying about someone falling in to the river, making sure sunblock is applied and trying to talk the boys out of throwing rocks at each other.
We all stayed together in a big house and went hiking (lots to choose from in Sedona), swimming, played tennis, yoga (that was just the girls), games, and out to eat.
The Haymores, Hardings, Whites, us and the Crowthers all checking out some really cool Indian ruins.
Tania talked me in to trying to feel young and stupid again and we jumped off a cliff at Grasshopper Point.
I was scared, but I was a big girl and went for it!
The water was freezing and I had water up my nose for two days, but of course it was a blast and I really did feel young and STUPID once again.
Matt and I feeling the "VORTEX" and loving spending time together.
We were told that the Indian men would sit around in the Kiva and weave baskets while the women did all the real work...
We thought that was pretty funny!! Good thing times have changed.
On our way home we caught a session at the Mesa Temple which was a wonderful ending to a wonderful trip. A huge thank you to Paul and Trisha (who is prego to boot) for watching our 4 kids. The kids were so excited for us to leave so they could play with Brig and Raegan. You guys are the BEST and we so appreciate your willingness to help us out. THANK YOU!!!

Spring Break

For spring break I took the kids to play in the water at Catalina State Park with some friends. The kids had water fights and made sand castles. It was a perfect day for a picnic.

Of course wherever we go, Blake will find a way to get a football involved. He also built a damn and caught "beetles that swam in the water" with Joseph and John.

Jackson loved splashing in the water. I just wished this water stayed year round. It eventually all dries up and we have to wait for monsoon season.

Chase Turns 1!

One year came and went so quickly. One whole year of getting to kiss on these cheeks! Who could ask for more? We had Paul and Trisha over for dinner and of course cake. Chase didn't like the cake. He wasn't feeling well and wanted nothing to do with it but after the third time, he finally figured it out and dug in.

The only word he knows is "ball" so we went for a ball cake

His favorite present was a little basketball toy from Raegan and Brigham- thanks Trisha, good call!

Storybook Parade

Every year Painted Sky does a Storybook Parade. Each child is to bring a favorite book and then dress up like that character. The kids then have a parade at school.

Audrey was Cinderella

Blake was of course a BYU fan/football player.

Even Jackson and Chase got in on the fun and were 2 Little Monkeys jumping on the bed. (Gotta get your money's worth out of those Halloween costumes)

Happy Valentine's Day!

Jackson playing in his giant Valentine's Box (a Joy School creation).
Valentines's Sunday- the one day of the year we dress in red and white.  Blake and Jackson were dressed in red and white too but by the time I got home from church (YW stuff) their church clothes were long gone!
Audrey and I can't resist Chases' cheeks, "Stop Kissing on me!"

The Bottle Snatcher

Sweet little Andrew is such a cutie
Fat little Chase spots food!
Defenseless, Andrew just sucks away...
SNATCH! "That looks tasty, I think I 'll try some."
Chase the bottle snatcher because we're not feeding him enough apparently, he has to steal bottles from innocent babies.

High's Visit

We were SO EXCITED when Erica, Kimball, Benson and Andrew came to visit us.
They came and cheered us on at our soccer game!
Erica and I got to leave and get our hair done (before pict.)
We all went to Blake and Audrey's Basketball games to cheer them on.
Erica loved playing with the boys in the backyard
Jackson loved having a built in playmate. He and Benson got along so well and just played and played all day!
Erica and I had a blast picking out some new pillows for my family room and
adding a few new nick-nacks. It so much more fun finding a pillow with a sister.
The whole gang saying goodbye. We had such a wonderful time- Please come Back!!!
